            In a New York town named after an iconic American animal, donut fans will have a chance to indulge their cravings, show a little love for local animals, and use Dunkin Donuts coupons all at the same time. Dunkin Donuts shops in the greater Buffalo area are selling heart-shaped donuts in support of the SPCA (the nation’s second-oldest humane society) throughout the month of November. Burger King's New Meals Give Kids They Royal Treatment

          Ding dong the (creepy) king is dead, but the crown remains – ready to be taken up by the bright young lights of our future.                   The new kids meal boxes will feature interactive games, wearable crowns, and a philanthropic twist: the boxes redirect kids to a website where they can chose to donate a portion of their meal’s proceeds to a charity dedicated to either wildlife, the environment, or education. There’s even a breakfast version of the BK Crown Meal (as they have been renamed), and every kid who walks to the restaurant – whether he orders food or not – is entitled to the royal treatment: BK has promised a crown to every kid who hoofs it to one of their stores.

                  The dethroned king is gone from BK’s advertising across the board, but the real idea is that “The king is the child,” says senior marketing VP Alex Macedo. A lot of big burger chains are re-imagining their offerings in light of recent pressure from parents and health advocates, but for BK the real driving force behind the change is the kids themselves.

                  "Kids negotiate harder than lawyers when they want to eat out," says Warren Sackler, associate professor of hospitality and food service management at Rochester Institute of Technology. Baby Saved By Diaper

            In Pembroke Park, Florida, a baby was found bobbing in a lake – and authorities believe that the buoyancy of her diaper prevented her from drowning. Witnesses reported that they saw a black car swerving wildly while the male passenger hit the female driver repeatedly. The driver was said to have lost control of the car, which caused it to barrel into the 40-foot deep lake.

            After a deputy pulled the 33-year old woman to safety, he said he saw a little thing “pop up like a cork” – that thing was in fact 3-year old Sariyah, whose diaper had kept her afloat. The girl is now in critical but stable condition at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood Florida.  Sariyah’s father died in the accident.

            The story is a tragic one, but the silver lining is that a little girl was saved by the least likely of devices. Who ever would have thought that Pampers coupons could be so powerful?

How To Read Your Baby's Signals

Research suggests that 90 percent of all communication between babies and adults is nonverbal – and that can make it tricky to figure out what your little one is telling you. According to language pathologist Diane Bahr, who wrote the book  Nobody Ever Told Me (or my Mother) That! There are a number of relatively universal cues that you can use to read baby’s mind.  "For instance, many babies make little fists when they're hungry and begin feeding. Once they are satisfied and full, their hands relax and open,” she explains.  Below are a few more physical cues that can help you tell when your little one in in need of luvs coupons asap or when he’s just getting sleepy.

            Your baby’s startle reflex will be triggered by loud noises, bright lights, or even the bobble of their own heads. When this reflex kicks in, the baby will jerk, spread out his arms and legs, then pull back in and cry.  If you haven’t seen the startle reflex and you only hear the cries, you might be  fooled into thinking that you need to go for the Luvs coupons. So just who are the people who feel that they have the right to decide which restaurants are the best in the world? The “Best Restaurant” distinctions are handed out by the World’s Best Restaurants Academy, which is a group of more than 800 international leaders in the restaurant industry – including food critics, chefs, restaurateurs, and gastronomes). The experts represent 27 regions across the globe and have considerable expertise, so their rankings actually carry a lot of weight.

I’ll have to use a lot of food coupons and save up for months to swing it, but if those 800 experts know what they’re talking about I’m sure it will be worth it!

Baby's Laughter Comes Easier Than Tears, Study Shows

 

         A baby’s laugh is one of the most adorable sounds in the world – and as it turns out, the fits of heart-melting giggles come naturally to babies. If these researchers are right, they’ve proven that people are in fact born to laugh.

         On the flip side, those cries that send parents scrambling for Huggies coupons aren’t instinctive. According to the small-scale Dutch study, which was recently published in the journal “New Scientist,” crying is something babies have to learn to do. This assertion seems counter to everything we know about babies – don’t newborns cry immediately after birth, and doesn’t it take weeks for baby to produce his first laughs? The researchers believe that your baby cries after birth because he’s shocked at the transition of being born and because they’re reflexively gasping for oxygen, not because he’s sad.

         The researchers based their fascinating findings on a 16-person study in which deaf and hearing people were asked to make the sounds associated with different emotions – though none of the study participants were allowed to speak about their feelings. When recordings of the emotional sounds were played back, the most identifiable sounds (as generated by both deaf and hearing people) were those of laughter. The fact that deaf and hearing people laugh the same way, though deaf people have never heard the sound of laughter, indicates that laughter is something we are born knowing how to do.

         “The finding makes sense. Laughter has been described as being more like a different way of breathing than a way of speaking,” said Professor Sophie Scott, from London’s Institute of Neuroscience. McDonalds Italy Goes Gourmet

           When the economy is tough, you’ve often got to take work where you can find it. A job at McDonald’s looks a whole lot better than no job at all, and even those at the top of the food chain aren’t immune. Even Italy’s most talented chef has taken a “McJob” with the Golden Arches,  and the move has upset Milan’s leading gourmets. They don’t think McDonalds coupons don’t belong in the same sentence (much less the same Zagat guide) as fine dining, and they’ve criticized Gualtiero Marchesi’s new partnership.
